Pastor David's Welcome Message
Peace and Love in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ!
We are so pleased that you are visiting our web site! Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church is a
beautiful sanctuary located in the western North Carolina Mountains. The church is less than a
mile from the four-lane (Highway 64), and five minutes from downtown Franklin, North Carolina.
We are a growing community of believers, and are excited about the future of God’s kingdom.
We hope that you will take the time to visit with us and join in our lively fellowship of worship. In
addition to worship services on Sunday mornings, we are involved in many other programs for
spiritual growth and outreach. We continue to strive to meet the needs of our community and the
world at large.
Louisa has several interesting Sunday School classes where learning is an interactive process of
conversation and discussion. We are also involved with service projects in our community,
including a roadside clean-up that the Methodist Men’s group has undertaken. Our Methodist
Women group supports missions – both worldwide and local. Most recently they supported a
mission team building project from the church as they spent several days building a home for a
single mother in Statesville, North Carolina (through the Wesleyan CDC).
In addition, we have a study group which meets on Wednesday evenings. Recent topics of
exploration have included the Wesleyan spirit, Prayers of Jesus, Confirmation for Adults and Youth,
the Prayer of Jabez, and a study of the book of Revelation. We are currently doing a study on the
Book of Acts. We'd be happy to have you join us.
Our hearts and prayers are with those in the Intensive Care Unit of our local hospital. We reach out
to the families of patients by offering them snacks at no cost as they minister to their loved ones.
People travel from far and wide to listen to our choir. This is a group of wonderful, inspiring church
members who bless us with their music every Sunday. They sing old hymns in four-part harmony,
and are a blessing to all who listen.
A nursery is provided for worship services. We have a large and very active children and youth
program. Activities are continually planned which the young ones find interesting and fun!
