A shot of the men on the roof.
Men at Work!
A shot of Kevin intent on his work.
The men from our Church, along with help from Habitat
for Humanity put a new roof on Dave Posey's house.
John Rogers looking as if he has a definite goal in mind.
Dave Hurd not payin' any attention to what was going on around him.
I guess the Men's Ministries must be roofers as on September 25th they put on another roof. The Women's
Ministries were represented that day also. Judy Hurd was on the roof laying down shingles assisting John
Rogers while Virginia Cassada and Karen Kneeland showed up with much needed FOOD! Plans were made
Thursday to meet at the Church around 8 o'clock. From there we proceeded to Donna Kneeland's where the
roof was to be applied.
Work started initially by tearing off the ridge caps.
We were under the supervisor's watchful eye.
While the old ridge caps were coming off, others were readying the roof for new shingles.
Donnie loaded shingles into the bucket and John unloaded them onto the roof. TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!
This tractor with a bucket made life much easier getting shingles onto the roof.
Roy went right to work applying shingles on the backside of the roof.
Virginia and Karen brought pizza and subs to us for dinner. Here John Rogers is diggin in.
YUM, YUM! Donnie getting up close and personal in the food line.
It was kinda slow work around the pipes. Maybe that was because of the person doing the cutting.
Then he and Pastor started on the front while others cut in around vent pipes and such.
After lunch break, the backside started taking shape. Van is into it with both feet and arms.
They were just about to the peak on the front by dinner time. PRAISE THE LORD!
John Rogers had a BIG project! He did a WONDERFUL job weaving the shingles in the valleys.
Completion! Once again PRAISE THE LORD! We were done and the nailer was returned by 5 o'clock!
The ridge cap is being applied.
Putting on the ridge caps.
Here's a shot of the GREAT job John did on those valleys. SUPER JOB JOHN! You da man!
Van and Dave headed to the last few courses to the peak.
